Spastic Owl Productions have produced, edited, written, recorded and edited several documentary productions.  Our productions have ranged from companion documentaries for college courses, to informational videos such as explaining a pending bylaw for a community, to historical documentaries.  Below is a sample of just one of these projects.

2nd Place Winner

(2nd to our 1st Place winning TV Production)

W.A.S.P.

Winner 2nd Place for Comedy in the Professional Category

7th Annual Northeast Regional Film Festival

The write-up:

Eight adults, some who border on rampant illiteracy, display raucous outbursts, and one might even have an over active bladder, must fight through the last several rounds of the local spelling W.A.S.P. for the coveted W.A.S.P. trophy.

The "angle":

The production is improvisational comedy with only the character types being scripted and only the director and singular actor  knowing.  One of our inspirations for the project was a lampooning of all the excessive pressure placed upon youth to compete in such competitions.  In no way is this a reflection upon youthful participants of spelling bees, only their overbearing parents.

Run Time:  40 minutes

Rating:  "PG-13" if applied to MPAA statute

Locke & Loder:  No Time 4 Time II

The write-up:

an ex-librarian fed up with the system and the other is a washed-up glass-jawed two-bit illiterate prize fighter.  But together their a team.  When the heat is on in the cold city, there's no time for time.  A movie so good they only made a trailer, and a trailer so good that you won't even want to see the movie.

This ten minute delight puts together many first time Spastic Owl players with some returning Spastic Owl legends.  The result let's just say "hilarity ensues"... because, that's what you always say about a wacky comedy bit.

The "angle":

This short foray into film making parodies the ridiculous trailer genre one views after one views commercials at the movie theatre.  Trailers that look so bad you wonder how the movie got made and why anyone would go to see it.  That said, you really should see this trailer.

Run Time:  10 minutes

Rating:  "PG-13" if applied to MPAA statutes.
